Hi me and my boyfriend has been together for about 6 months and I constantly worry.. Especially over being pregnant after every time we have sex.. I'm not on birth control anymore haven't been on it in about a year and want to get on it but haven't had the money to go to the doctor. But we always use spermicidal condoms, he doesn't get any where near finishing inside me he pulls out and he'll finish himself, and also we blow up the condom to see if there's any holes and there never is any. I guess I just want to reassure myself I hate worrying cause I'd like to enjoy it but I want to know if birth control will really help our method out? Is our method protective enough for me not to get pregnant? And how many months should we not have sex when I get on birth control? Thanks!
Hi there
Yes, condoms are a good option, but there is always a fear of loss of protection if condom has holes or tears off. Equally risky is a situation where you can have sex outside of your fertile days. But, let me inform you, no woman can fit into a bracket, each has her own set of hormones ticking and period lenths wary - this includes fertile days.
You can ask for generic version of contraceptive pills - these will be extremely cheaper and equally effective. Good luck
