Me and my boyfriend have been having sex. I got my period during the middle of May but havent gotten it since then and its almost the end of June. I took a pregnancy test and it was negative. But I've been getting bad stomach aches and my chest is really sore. How often are pregnancy tests wrong? and Why is my period so delayed?

Hi MIssy108 and asugurl5,
Missy108 When did you had sex last time?
Asugurl5 probably asked you this because you have to wait at least one to two weeks to take a HPT for it to show you a correct result. Right Asugurl5?
Sometimes stressing about this can make you prolong your period.
How old are you Missy108? Do you usually have regular period?

If you're period was scheduled to happen about 2 weeks ago and that's when you took the test, there is a chance that it was too early for an accurate result. If you have still not had your period, I would take another test. If that one shows up negative and you're still having symptoms, I would go to the doctor and ask for a blood test to confirm. Tell your doctor the timing of your last cycle and when you've taken tests.
At-home pregnancy tests can be hard to read and/or easily taken incorrectly. It's best to take one test first thing in the morning because it can have the highest concentration of the pregnancy hormone, if it's present.
I'm kinda in the same boat with you right now, Missy. I've been having some symptoms but negative results. I'm in the waiting game too, as I haven't missed a period yet.
Best of luck to you and please keep us posted.
