I am 24 years old and I never imagined that I could be allergic to corn. But the only good thing is that the allergic reaction was not a serious one, I only experienced some mild skin rash the next morning, but I do not think to tempt the fate again. I would like to know how to follow a corn-free diet? What should I avoid?
Hmm, it will not be an easy task, because the corn and its derivates are present in many food products today. But I guess that is something that has to be done in order for you to avoid any complications. With this said, I suppose that you will have to very thoroughly read the labels of the food you buy. As for some more common things, avoid anything that has corn in its title, grits, hominy, margarine, maize, peanut, polenta, cheese…
There no quick solution, like everyone else you will need to look at what you eat and anything that is precooked forget it! Learn to cook/bake- you can use coconut flour (Tiana) and they also do coconut butter (I use the butter for everything cooking, eating raw and external application. You will want to avoid cornstrach in cosmetics too, thickners in soups/saues/baked items. One of the problems of today's diet everything has undergone some form GM method, so the thought is it might not be the corn's fault but the GM method of growing it that is causing you the allergy/introlorance...experiement and find what suits you personally
