Hello,

the main goal of re-feeding program is to prevent re-feeding syndrome to happen - that is one of the more serious complications of any eating disorder. Depending on which eating disorder you're recovering from and what kind of support do you have around you during this process, your main goal during re-feeding is literally to keep too much of the lost electrolytes entering your bloodstream.

Since re-feeding syndrome can happen no matter if you lost your weight due to the eating disorder or sometimes even because of unrelated surgical procedure, the most important signs you need to look out for are swelling (mainly on feet) and difficulties with breathing. Those are the signs that re-feeding needs to be done in hospital where they can monitor electrolyte levels more closely.

How much weight did you lose and how are you feeling now with your health in general?
