We are in desperate need of help, My husband has been having and aching pain in his abdomen on the lower left side, sometimes aching pain in his testicles and occasionally shoots down his left leg. He has been having this pain for months now and seen our primary care physician numerous times. He has had multiple tests which have all came back clean including an xray, CAT scan, colonoscopy and an MRI. The doctor keeps saying that it is muscular pain. 2 years ago he had hernia surgery on the same side and they placed a metal mesh to repair it, I keep wondering if this is related but all the tests seem to not show anything. He is very nervous and anxious because no one can seem to figure out the cause and treatment of this pain. He doesn't have swollen testicles or scrotum, and he hasn't been overexerting himself during activity. If anyone can give us advice or has had a similar situation and can help we would greatly appreciate it. Thanks :-)

I think that rather than going to see your primary that you should ask to see a specialist about it instead because I don't think that your primary knows precisely what to look for. I think that it probably is not related to the hernia surgery but that it could be nerve damage or something like that! Maybe you can see a neurlogist or something like that? Keep me posted onw hat you end up deciding and how it goes. Thanks for posting!

You probably won't see this since you posted over a year ago and I would guess the problem has been resolved by now. However, the type of pain he is experiencing is similar to hernia pain. Because he had surgery on that same side, that would be the first thing I ruled out in a very thorough way. I believe he may have surgery-induced nerve damage or the mesh has begun to create a problem. Nevertheless, it all goes back to the hernia surgery OR he has re-injured the surgical site. Good luck.
