i have read everybody  concerns about hydrochlorot. i also take 25mg of this meds for about 12 years along with other b/p meds. lately i have been feeling weird, legs will cramp and my toes will cramp im the middle of the night. and sometimes in the morning. yesterday i went  to  my doctor, i was telling her my problems. she sent me to the lab for blood work.today she called to tell me to stop taking the hydrochlorot. and that my  sulfate magnisum is very low. and she want me to drink plenty of fluids. i hope this will help me to feel better.i hope my feet and toes will not swell up. or my fingers. so i can relate to you all. good luck to everybody who have hypertension.

I am on  HYDROCHLOROT 25 MG TAB as well and my sodium has dropped to 127

I also feel dizzy when I take 12.5 mgm. I quit taking it for a while but the Dr. wants me to make another apt, which I really don't feel like doing. If I don't take it (supposedly for ankle swelling) I feel much better! and my ankles swell whether I take it or not.

Hi Ruby, I was put on it a month ago it brought my pressure down way low like 79/56 and then each day i got sicker.. and sicker.. It also made me real nervous I have a list of things it did to me.. I told the doctor, this time I brought my husband with me.. I quit taking them the fivth day.. And I thought he would be mad so I brought someone with me.. It's the medicine don't let that doctor tell you any different.

Hello my name is Tammy. My doctor had put me on HYDROCHLOROT 25 MG TAB STAD for high blood pressure. I haven't been on this for very long. I took it for a week and didn't notice any side affects. I forgot to take it for a week and noticed that i had developed a rash on my upper chest and side of my neck. I am not sure if that is from not taking the meds or from taking it. I have restarted taking it again as i was laying down watching TV and was feeling my chest pounding. I could feel my heart beat. I am not sure if that's a sign of my blood pressure being high. I am only 36 and i scares me. Is there anything i can do??

I want to know if Hydroclorot could give you dry mouth i also have sores in my mouth I am taking 25 mg.

It certainly can give you dry mouth, don't know about the sores.

It is the medicine. I was on the same thing and within a week I was feeling dizzy, and my blood pressure dropped to below normal. Stopped it after that. It did work for about two weeks after stopping it too. Now the pressure is starting to creep up again and am considering taking between 1/4 tab first once a week to see how I react to that amount and if it keeps my pressure level.

I'm on HCL and I was heavily advised to stay away from "Salt Substitutes" as they are nearly all POTASSIUM. Ask you Doc before taking any potassium supplements. -HyperSue

I would get a second opinion if the doctor doesn't listen but some meds do take time for your body to get use too. Also talk to your pharmacist. Medicine is their life. I depend on my pharmacist for information. They can give you a printout of side effects too. . I would not just stop taking them without a replacement. You could have a stroke.

Ruby Maine sound like you are having vertigo I had it too feels like your head and the whole room is spinning, they a medication for vertigo it works andi no longer take anything for it unless it comes back and its very seldom
