I am 15 years old and I have terrible problem. I have a friend who lost her virginity and now she uses tampons. She said there is written virgins could also use it without hymen rupturing. I tried to have one tampon and it caused me pain. Now I am worried if I have done there something down there like hymen rupture, so I need someone’s opinion about this.

That is true instructions recommend tampon usage even to virgins. I think this is individual, because not each girl is the same. Me, for example, I had terrible problems when I wanted to make my hymen ruptured on purpose finally in my 23rd year. I guess it was not stretch enough so it hurts me a lot. I have some friends that were not even bleeding when they ruptured their hymen. That is why my opinion is that you should feel your body, so stop use tampons if that hurts you. Although they said, you could put it in, maybe your hymen is too closed for this action. You probably know there must be opening for your menstrual blood, but maybe yours is too tight. You could try it once again, and try it from different angles. If it still hurts, leave it and use pads as you did always. I am sure you can wait until you rupture your hymen right way, with person that you love, and not with tampon.

Rupturing your hymen would be serious, and very undesirable. This is why a girl who is a virgin should never insert a tampon or anything else into her vagina. It is possible for you to be examined to determine whether the hymen is still intact. The examination is embarrassing and disagreeable, but not extremely painful. I would urge any girl to do it if she has doubts, or at regular intervals. A doctor can perform the exam, or your could ask your mother. Alternatively, you can examine yourself. Lubricate your forefinger with KY or vaseline, pull up your knees while lying on your back, and try very gently to insert the finger into your vagina. If you can enter the finger into your vagina, then your hymen has been ruptured.

I did not mean to quote the whole thing but just the last part when you explained how one can check if their vagina was ruptured. I did that and I could go in; it hurt a bit but I had tried to do it without lubricating my finger and it hurt more; this time it was not that bad. However, i only usd my index finger which is not very long / thick and i can still see my hymen. Does it still mean it has been " removed "?
