I'm 15 and I just read this because I got a spot on one of the flaps of my vagina, but I read all of these answers, and I popped it and it went away. Thank you :)

Hi I'm 15 and i read this because i have the same problem. I am not sexually active. I think i might have one but im afraid to tell my mom but i will if i have to, and i dont want to go to a doctor because.....well how awkward would that be? I think its a cyst after looking online(but im not completely sure) and it was saying how it could grow to the size of a tennis ball or be cancerous or something.. that really scares me. I'm also afraid to try and pop it! Will it go away on its own? I think around 2 weeks ago i found that there was a little bump there but i thought it was maybe just like a pimple or whatever and it would just come and go, but today i saw it again and its gotten a lil bigger... is this bad? Help would be much appreciated! o.O

Thanks. This has put my mind to rest as I really hope this is the case. I'm only 14 and have a small spot like thing on 'there'. I'm too embarrassed to tell my mom and I definitely do not want to go to the doc. It hurts to touch but no pus or blood is coming out. I really do hope this is the case.

hi, i have the same problem! should i use spot cream?

NO don't put spot cream down there dang that's gonna hurt Just like your face, arms and even the boils on your bum, your vagina can get spots and bumps. The most usual cause of this is a blocked pore or hair follicle. If you have ever had an ingrowing hair on your arm or leg your able to see it closely, and break the skin freeing it, down below it's not so easy.
Other causes could be a change in soap or wash powder your mum's using. Sometimes you can even get a proper spot down there like you would have on your face, either leave it alone or give it a little pop and it will be gone in a few days, but this can be really really painful, depending on where it is. The only time you might want to tell your mom is if you notice something then a week or more later it's still there or got bigger, especially if it feels like a frozen pea in a bag of jelly as you put your finger either side of it, sorry I'm trying to describe a texture I basically mean it wont feel right with the rest of the area, which would feel soft compared to the bump.

Hi
Firstly even if your Dr is a guy, he's use to seeing these things all the time, I understand this is embarrassing for you though, so you can request to see a female Dr at the same surgery you normally attend. Many women do this, they see their usually male G,P for everything, and when it comes to gyno they make the appointment with a female at the same practice. You should also be able to attend some other clinic in your area, Family planning, Sti, I'm not sure what they have but most would be free or a lot less than the Dr.
Ok so lets try and work out what this could be.When you say outer vagina, do you mean the lips where the hair grows, or the top pubic mounds area. Also is the spot hard, filled with liquid, flat to the skin or like a scab and cracked/leaky. If you are sexually active it could also be something totally different to if you were not, so it would help to know, but I'll see what I can come up with from the info you've given.
If its itchy as well as sore, and if you've managed to squeeze it and some blood or clear fluid came out it sounds like it may be due to folliculitis. It is inflammation of one or more hair follicles. The damaged follicles are then infected with the bacteria staphylococcus.
Swabbing the skin, then sending it to a laboratory for bacterial and yeast cultures will confirm the infection. You need physical examination by your doctor & prescription.Till than apply ointment ultramide or ointment polysporin.
As you are describing it as so dark [black/purple] The only other thing I can think of just now is a blood blister. This would be fluid filled like any other blister and really quite sore. If it was this it would probably be best just to let it do it's thing and pop on its own.
It may even be a simple mole, they can appear slightly purple when in the vaginal area, but they would no usually be sore. Whatever it is I think your best getting it looked at if it continues to cause you problems. Embarrassing or not it's best to just bite the bullet and get it fixed
I hope this helps
