I had a spinal fusion and disc replacement and now don't have feeling from the waist down

I had a spinal fusion and disc replacement in sept 2015 due to spinal damage, I was promised that this would help my problem but that did not happen in fact it has made things even more severe I have no feeling from the waist down and have severe pain in my arms shoulder and neck I do not know when I need to go to the toilet and my sex life[well what sex life I don't have one as I now have no feeling surely they have done something wrong why has the happened I am at my wits end I am in constant pain any one else experiencing the same problems
