So, I had a tummy tuck in december of 2005. My tummy was nice and flat. I was feeling sexy after having had three kids in a row!! They were now preteens and my husband and I were positive we weren't having anymore kids. As a matter of fact, he was looking into getting clipped! Anyway, my tummy was so flat, I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was a little over 4 months. I would have an extremely light period every month. Besides that, I had an IUD in place. It had worked for 8 years. It was suppose to be effective for 10 years. Anyway, my tummy tuck scar was lumpy and dark but I didn't look pregnant until about 6 1/2 months. My tummy was so tight. Everytime I had a drs appointment or ultra sound, the drs or nurses would get wide eyed when they'd lift up my shirt and see my tummy tuck scar. Everyone was amazed. It was kinda funny. So after the baby was born, my tummy was flat and back to normal in about 2 weeks! I am so not joking. I did breastfeed which helped with burning calories and uterus going down. But I literally looked as if I had never been pregannt. My scar was still red and lumpy but after a while that flattened out too. Haha!!! Funny Story. This was suppose to be in response to someone who posted that they just got pregnant and had a tummy tuck . They were afraid. I couldn't find the post anymore. Hope she finds this.!
Thank you for sharing your personal experience with us.
Thanks I am trying to have a baby and I had a tummy tuck about 6 years ago am I am worried how that would affect a pregnancy
Hello there, I am currently 30 weeks pregnant and had a TT in 2008, Not planning on having anymore children after 3 boys this was definitely a surprise. I can tell you this has been a more trying experience for me compared to my other pregnancies everyone is different however , My stomach is so tight and uncomfortable , I have not gained a lot of weight however the weight of my belly feels heavier, I have not had any new stretch marks and seem to be growing very well, so the TT has not affected the pregnancy, lot's of back pain, and the baby is pushed on my bladder more, it is alot harder to roll over at night due to the tightness of my belly and I don't get much sleep, Pregnancies I had before the TT were alot easier, just be prepared for lots of uncomfortableness! We found out we are having another boy I am due in the beginning of July, and will keep you posted on the rest of the pregnancy. Good luck to you , the only thing that keeps me going lately is the fact that babies are truly a blessing and I'm looking forward to him evacuating my body when he is healthy so I can feel like me again, I have always had so much energy and I don't have any right now.
How long did it take for your scar to go away??? I had the same thing happen to me. My son is now 18 months and my scar is still there. I'm wondering if it will ever go away.
