I have an egg allergy that comes and goes. The first time it manifested itself was shortly after I had my second child. I ate a cheescake at an Olive Garden and within 10-15 minutes I had severe stomach cramps and nausea, and I eventually threw up. At that point I wasn't sure what was going on, then I ate eggs unknowingly another time and the same thing happened. Then I had some dip that had eggs in it and again within 10-15 minutes I threw up. So from there on out I steered clear from eggs in anything! Well 6-8 months later I accidentally ate something that had eggs in it and I noticed that I had no reaction. So I slowly began reintroducing them into my diet. Well now recently I have been eating eggs like normal and the first time I noticed pain it was very mild and I figured it was something else. Well each time from there it has gradually gotten worse. The other day I ate an egg sandwich and got severe pains in my intestines for about an hour. Then last night I had vanilla ice cream with some fruit on it and about 1/2 hour later the stomach cramps came and so I looked at the ingredient list and it said egg yolks. So I know for sure it is eggs but not sure if it's just egg yolks or whites. Has anyone else had an allergy like this that comes and goes?
yes!!! all the time. it drives me crazy...still waiting to see an allergist!
yes, funnily enough mine happened after a second child too. I get severe abdo cramps if i eat a whole egg but for some reason am able to eat things that contain small amounts of egg such as cakes! very frustrating as i really do like the taste of egg!
vaccines are developed in chicken eggs. when you get vaccinated, your telling your body that egg is enemy. i had the same problem. certain alternative methods can "reprogram" your brain.
I have the same allergic reaction, I love eggs and could eat them no prob. After my first child 11yrs ago, severe cramping after eating eggs, regardless how they are cooked, and regardless of quantity. Most annoying! DOnt think Ill bother with time and money to see a specialist, cheaper to just stay away from eggs.
I have a couple gas-x after i eat the eggs and it relieves the cramping within 15 minutes.
I can usually eat eggs with no problem but every once in a while I get severe cramps. I noticed a few years ago that if I have something sweet with the eggs that it seems to be the catalyst for the cramps. If I drink a soda with an omelet, that will do it. It had been a while and I forgot so a few days ago it had egg salad sandwiches and a bowl of ice cream after and I had violent cramping. Has anybody else made that same connection?
