Hi Country gal
It is always difficult to lose weight, especially when a lot needs to be lost.
But first rule out any medical condition that might be the cause. An underactive thyroid (hypothyrodism) might be part of the reason, so a medical check-up would be a good idea.
Then, although good to eat healthily, the amount consumed is critical. Try cutting down on portion size. Drink a full glass of water immediately before your meals.
Working out might be supplemented (or even replaced) by swimming and/or brisk walking 1/2 hour each day.
The ony 'diet' regime I would recommend is the 5:2 diet. That is where on any two days a week you limit your calorie intake to 500 calories each day. You then eat normally on the other 5 days.
You don't say where you are located (country/state/county), but I hope that what I suggest is feasible where you live.

For tips on that Google "fasting diet tips" or "the fast diet". Suggestions are available how to make best use of your 500 calories. Start with the 2 days well apart (say Sunday and Wednesday). I believe the author (Dr Michael Mosley) found he had to lose a lot and went for a 4:3. This sort of diet avoids the body going into 'starvation mode' and is a regime (I and my family find) is sustainable. I hope it goes well for you.
