I have throat problems

for 2 days now the left side of my throat is just in so much pain.... i can still talk ok but it feels like someone is shoving a knife into my throat and is jiggling it every minute or less!!!! is there anyway to get rid of this in the early stages or do i have to wait it out? plz help.
