what is lymphodema?

Loading...

Your lymph nodes are part of your cardiovascular system. The lymphatic system pulls fluid out of the bloodstream to hydrate the tissues and then filters is back through the lymph node and returns it back to the blood stream. WHen the lymph load is too great the extra lymph fluid accumulates in the bodies tissues. You can have extremity swelling, fluid in the lungs or around the heart. The fluid is a collection of lymph fluid in body tissues. This can be resolved by medications, binding the affected area or even surgery. :-) :-)
