Please help me if you can! Based on what I have read about symptoms online, I strongly suspect that I suffer fro, ochronosis. Of course I want to approach my doctor about this, and I would like to know in advance what tests are carried out to diagnose ochronosis, and how invasive they are. Any info would be great.
Ochronosis is usually associated with symptoms like darkening of certain parts of the skin and eyes. There may be dark blue pigment present in the eyes. One obvious symptom might occur in babies. Urine may turn blue and diapers show this. The ears may have a blue coloration too, as can the nose. This condition is caused either by genetic disorder or as a extremely rare side effect of some medicines. Besides skin changes, this condition is also followed by arthritis like changes in joints. There is no definite treatment although disease is not lethal. I don’t think that you need to be scared of the tests, if it turns out you need them.
