Hi Sweetie,
Being only 13 most likely you do not have cancer. Lumps and bumps in the body at your age are a normal part of growing up. If you have started having your period, most likely the swelling is due to hormonal changes which can swell glands most often in the breasts, underarms and groin. Since you did not state where your lump was, it is hard to discern if it is hormonally related. I would suggest that if you are scared and worried, ask your parents, a school nurse, or go see the doctor. If it is something serious, getting the area checked early can provide a quicker and easier recovery. Being stressed about it and obsessing over it will do nothing to make it better. Taking control over your health is the best thing you can do at your age. Good job asking the question, Most people alot older than you are too scared to even ask for advice.
