I am a good swimmer. I would like to enter the world of competitive world. However I was told several times that I didn’t have what it takes to be a true champion. When I insisted on details I received the explanation that I don’t have the ideal body shape for a swimmer. Is there such thing and how limiting this factor is?
There are some theories about size and shape of the shoulders, legs, arms and pelvis. They are just that, theories. I wouldn’t give them too much credit. Don’t let anybody talk you out of your dreams. Hard work, dedication, commitment, sound nutrition and smart planning are the essentials for a true champion. Ideal body shape is elusive category. Many true champions in other sports also had been told that they stand no chance yet they proved otherwise. Why shouldn’t you?
