Hi Ladies,
wondering if anyone can help me. I had Implanon in for approx 5 yrs, no end of issues hated it, i know why have a second one but we all do strange things :-), i had it removed in January and had my period as was due, starting on the 20th, and have not had a period since. I have had unprotected sex with my partner on several occasions as we are ready for children and if now is when its meant to be, then mother nature will take her course. I have had a few pregnancy symptoms yet I have done several pregnancy tests, at home, which have all come back negative. So my question is, can implanon cause false negatives or could this be a phantom pregnancy? Help!!
I have kept this bc in for 5 years straight thinking that i was supposed and told i was supposed to and now i just researched it and it says you are supposed to keep it in for 3 years! I have been so sick and in so much pain and i would have never thought it would be from leaving my bc in so long. And what really scared me was that it say that i might be infertile. I want to have children in the future. I am 17 almost 18 and this is a little too much handle if i really am. Any wise words?  :'(

Hi Hippy Chick

It's supposed to be taken out after 3 years other wise it's not effective & if left in after that time will make you quite sick but  it won't make you infertile so don't worry that's a very rare side effect didn't your GP tell you all this?? hope all works out for you your only young so have plenty of time. why did you have it young & kept in after 5 years that's a long time to leave it in for after the 3 years your supposed to have it in for.

Idiots she posted in the first sentance that she has a second one. And I just got mine so I couldn't help :( The stupidity though made me create an account. I hope you are doing well!!!
