I think that this is very serious question and only your pediatrician can give you right answer. And even statistical data aren’t always 100 % accurate so you shouldn’t relay on that too much. Instead if you wish some additional information and opinion you should seek another medical opinion.
Involving another doctor in your case can’t be bad and with some additional information you and your baby can benefit.
Since it has been a while from the time you have posted this problem I presume that by now you have resolved it. Would you share your experience with us? And what did you do and how it all ended. I hope that your pediatrician was wrong and that your son is just fine.
