According to articles in this same website white discoloration around the labia/vulva can mean anything from vulvar atrophy to vaginal cancer. Only way to make sure is a biopsy.

I was diagnosed with Lichen Sclerosus a few years after having all these symptoms. I went in for a check up thinking I had a severe yeast infection that wouldn't clear up and was told I had this. I didn't even realize at that time that everything was turning white "down there". Apparently I hadn't looked in a while. I was given a very strong cortisone cream (Clobetasol Propionate .05%) to treat it. It made the itching and burning better but didn't completely clear up the whitening of my inner labia. I keep the cream on hand for flare ups. It's literally the only thing that helps. It's been a few years since my diagnosis and most of the area "down there" is completely white but I'm still able to have intercourse with my husband with no problems.
