I went for my annual gyn appointment last week and my nurse practioner (whom I really like) suggests endometrial ablation to eliminate my heavy periods and I could have my tubes tied at the same time. I didn't complain about my period while there, just simply told her it has really changed over the last year, turned into a rapidly flowing river, but only lasts about three days. I assume her worry stems from me being a 38 year old, smoker, done having children, on birth control pills (which have a very low dose of no hormones). It was almost as if she was a salesperson for Novasure. My periods are not really that bothersome. I have been reading stories for the past three hours as to why women had the procedure done and don't feel like I am really in the same category. Any advice? Maybe I should speak with the real GYN?
