is it safe for a 68 year old female with knee replacement to use a treadmill?

Hi. Well you know what they say if you took care of your knees when you were young, you will avoid wear and tear which could demand procedures as serious as a knee replacement. Since you already had one the best thing you can do is to take special care of your knees now and that doesn't include overreacting on a treadmill. It is safe for you to use the treadmill but not too much and not too often and use a safety rails on the treadmill to help support your weight. It is a great thing that you want to stay in shape but maybe it would be better to exercise outside the gym. Walking is always a good solution and walking on a fresh air is even better. So to conclude you should listen to your body and do whatever feels right just don't exceed the limit.
