After returning from a 20mile race the other day my knee has been clicking every time I extend my leg. This is stopping me from running and cycling so Is becoming a bit of a problem. The knee feels inflamed and irritated so should I rest it or do something else? Any tips you can give will be more than appreciated!

20miles is a lot of running to do for a single day and I think its only natural that you are having some problems with your knee. I suggest you use an ice pack on your inflamed knee for about 15mins. This should limit the flow of blood and reduce the swelling.

Also remember to stay away from the running & cycling for a few days and rest.

After a marathon I take almost a full-week off, ice my knees everyday, and take 2 to 3 advil a day. Haha I'm always such a wreck!
