I used it and it put my stuff on fire. I am still battling discomfort and blisters in that area.
AT HOME SOLUTION:: If anyone has this reaction they should take Benadryl to stop the allergic reaction. Get a douch and empty it. Mix plain yogurt with warm water and fill the douch. Rinse all the medication out and off. Keep yogurt on there until the pain subsides.
You're having an allergic reaction to the medication. The infection is likely gone, but since the meds are still on there the swelling will continue until you can get it all out and off. You'll feel 1,000x better once it is out/off of you then you can figure out if you actually still have an infection or if any continued itching was from the reaction.

DO NOT USE! I can't walk because my lady parts have blown up like a puffer fish. I feel like I have a tennis ball between my legs :(
Thanks for the Benadryl suggestions. I hope this goes away soon....

2 days after using monistat-1, I am covered with many huge open blisters and it is excruciating to pee, walk or stand. My Dr. put me on anti-viral and anti-bacterial medication and I took a blood test for herpes, which I'm waiting for the results.
Any suggestions for dealing with the pain?

I didn’t use the ovule, just the Monostat 1 cream. I’m red, horribly swollen, burning, pealing. Sorry this was not caused by a preservative.
Ok so same thing happened to me. Extremely painful- I couldn’t walk, wear underwear, or sit I was sooo swollen and inflamed and raw/red!
I went to urgent care- there was no way I could tough through it until my ob office opened.
They made a note in my medical chart that I am allergic to monistat or micanazole nitrate.
After reading your post- I’m wondering if maybe I’m allergic to capsule instead of actual medicine active ingredient.
I had used monistat a handful of times prior- never had an issue.
My doc said that the one day treatment is just too much or high dose. So she said to use 7 day instead (but after that reaction I will never touch the stuff again)
I also used a vagisil wipe and had a similar reaction, not as severe but it wasn’t inserted obviously, just used on outside skin areas.
(Which makes me think it IS the actual medicine I’m reacting to)
Sooo without trying this medicine again- how can I figure out if it’s the ingredients or the capsule!?
My doctor had NEVER seen a severe reaction like this, she admitted that. And the urgent care doc didn’t really care, they treat me and send me on my way...
I always mention the allergy. Just got prescribed some cream and I’m scared to use it!!

I’m so sorry that nurse made you doubt your boyfriend!!
I actually left that part of my experience out of my post...when I went to urgent care they said the same thing!! The lesions were Herpes and I probably had an STD.
I was like NO! I had a yeast infection and used monistat 1. THEN the lesions, swelling, blistering and pain started! Ugh it was so frustrating to be told you have an std and not be taken seriously.
After urgent care I followed up with my primary. She still tells patients to this day about my reaction and always tells them to NEVER USE 1day OTC treatments.
At least my pain and suffering will help others in my doctors office from ever going through this!

Sweet love, just because you’re a straight lesbian all day every day doesn’t mean whoever you’re sleeping with doesn’t sample the occasional weenie.
I'm an allergy nurse and the information you were given is inaccurate.
I'm currently having the same reaction and immediately suspected an allergy. I tested myself for an allergy to the ingredients and all were negative. I'm not saying that no one is allergic. Just saying that it's not always an allergic reaction.
Unfortunately, some women are just more sensitive than others. Seems that we're the unlucky ones.

I got the same lacerations and swelling on my vagina but i was stupid and used two ovules one day after another. I'm now using Diflucan, terconozole and aloe to heal the lacerations DON'T EVER USE MONISTAT AGAIN I certainly won't hope you feel better sooner
Use Aloe Vera, the plant - separate the skin from the gel and apply it to the affected areas it will feel cool and curative.
I've had the same reaction to the mobile
Had to take to miss two days of work

I am 36 yrs in a committed relationship for 14 yrs. This is 2nd yeast infection my whole life. I'm learning it's not that uncommon and can be caused by many things. I recently swore off tampons and believe this is what caused it this time. I got Monistat 7, 1st night no problems. 2nd night is when it was noticeably swollen by am.
Went to doc. Go to doc asap. Swolleness is a reaction and you need a steriod. Your health is not worth waiting. Doc did say Benadryl would also help. But I wouldn't wait. Too uncomfortable.

Yup. Same thing happened to me after taking the Monisat 3 ovule. Extremely swollen, burning, itching, rash on my inner thighs. Went to Urgent care and got Diflucan and some steroids for the rash. A couple things that really really helped... 1) Aloe vera plant. Peel off the outer skin and rub the gel part all over down there. Helped immensely. 2) Coconut oil and mother raw apple cider vinegar. Dilute the apple cider vinegar with water (like a teaspoon of vinegar and a 2 teaspoons of water) and a scoop of coconut oil. Stir it all together, stick it on a tampon and put it up there. Then slather it all over everything else. That brought HUGE relief. Today my va jay jay is still red but actually looks normal. Hope that will help other ladies cause it's a horrible thing to go through!!!
Has it healed yet i took one yesterday and i look really deformed?
Same thing happened to me. I’m still raw from it and it’s been about 6 months.
