Hi, I have a question about methocarbonal. The last Sunday I had a accidental fall in my back yard and a terrible back pain, and a pain in my left leg. I went to see my doctor on the Monday morning and he said it could have been a herniated disc in my back that is pressing against the nerves that are coming out of my spine. He said that I should stay still for a couple of days to see if the injury will heal by itself and that if it’s nothing serious the pain will disappear. He prescribed me ibuprofen for the pain. I took few of those pills but the pain didn’t go away. My friend had similar problems as I do now and she took methocarbonal for the pain. Would it be safe if I did the same?
Methocarbonal is not an analgesic medicine, it is a muscle relaxant, very mild one but it helps with pain induced by muscular stiffness and spasm. If your friend had a herniated disc he or she might have had muscular spasm in the affected part of the body caused by pressure on the spinal nerves. Taking methocarbonal probably reduced the spasm and caused the reduction of pain and relief. That doesn’t mean that methocarbonal would work in your case, and since you didn’t give me any detailed description of your symptoms and the condition you’re in I can't make any recommendations. It is possible that methocarbonal will have positive effects on you but you should consult your doctor before taking this medicine since it is not an over-the-counter medicine and it is issued only with the prescription from the authorized medical doctors.
I was wondering if Methocarbonal would help with pain (nerve pain) related with Multiple Sclerosis?
Thanks!
And if so, does it mix well with Lyrica or in place of this?
