My grandad has recently gone into hospital with an enlarged heart and has the following symptoms:

Bad short term and medium term memory
Unable to put sentences together
Asks questions that don't make sense
Not remembering names and details

The doctors are yet to do a brain scan due to long waiting list.

Is the damage permanent and will his memory begin to come back?
