I would like to ask you about leukemia and its prevention. Is there a way to prevent leukemia at all? My friend’s son had this condition but he is ok now. Still it was a hard fight and I would not want that to happen to my unborn son, my wife is in 7th month of pregnancy.
Unfortunately, there is no known way to prevent leukemia, and I guess we are talking about childhood leukemia – ALL. This condition usually affects kids in age about 4 or 5 and the good news is that large majority of those kids is cured, even more than half of adults that suffer from that illness. I just hope that one day preventing leukemia will be an easy task, for now we are far from that.
I recently trained with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team in Training Program. It lets people train for an endurance event and raise money to help fight leukemia. It's a great program if you want to do something to join in the fight against leukemia, especially with such a personal connection to it. I don't think there's any surefire way to prevent any kind of cancer, but I did find an article about how folic acid in pregnant women can help prevent childhood leukema that you might be interested in since your wife is pregnant. Hope it helps!
Taking care of yourself is the best way to prevent leukemia. Excercise regularly, minimize your exposure to toxins, and consume a high amount of antioxidants. It's always a good idea to cleanse regularly to flush out the toxins that we are inevitably exposed to as well, particulary a liver/blood cleanse. There are many comprehensive cleansing programs available at your local health store.
