Could it be methamphetamine because it's a amphetamine referred to as meth? Same side effects, same endorphin boost, and same feeling derived from it. The real question is if meth is so bad then why are we prescribing it to kids? I don't use meth but facts a te facts and adderall and methamphetamine are the same.

Yeah this guy is bluedog is wrong.

They're virtually the same compound except for an N-methyl group associated methamphetamine as opposed to amphetamine and their effects are the same. According to the research article found at https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3475187/ there is no evidence supporting the notion that methamphetamine is more potent due to its additional methyl group. Instead, it seems that meth seems more portent than adderall only because it is often smoked or injected rather than ingested like adderall, bypassing the time required for ingestion and absorption into the bloodstream.

True the effects observed by the user will depend on the mixture of stereoisomers, d-, vs l-, but for all intents and purposes, adderall is legal meth and caution should be warned when taking this drug sans medical supervision for it is easily habit forming when abused at high dosings for a period of time.

The reason why you tested positive for meth is because you're taking Adderall. They are both forms of amphetamine; urine analyses do not test for which exact form of amphetamine you are taking. Instead, UAs only test for their common derivative. Thus, whether you are taking methamphetamine or have been prescribed dextroamphetamine/levoamphetamine (Adderall), they will be show up "hot" as amphetamine on a urine test.

I have a son on the autism spectrum, and his doctor prescribed him a low dose of Aderall! The difference in his behavior is night and day...he is even able to be in a regular clas(as opposed to special needs classes)! You have to weigh the good vs bad!

You may say that kids need to realize that they must work hard to do well in lie as opposed to taking pills but ADHD medication is very helpful for plenty of us. I am not taking Adderall but I am on Vyvanse and it has helped a great deal, the drug turned my life around. Although it may not be great to depend on drugs for this, they can really increase a person's quality of life. I was even depressed and suicidal before taking Vyvanse but the medication has improved my life so much that I am no longer feeling suicidal or too depressed. I can also tell you that some kids dont just strive to pass their classes, some strive to get good grades. I have even stopped skipping school because I stopped having frequent mental braakdowns. As a child, I recieved very low grades. When I got into high school, I started working tremendously hard to try to earn good grades. I was able to maintain a 4.0 GPA for 2 years without medication but I was having frequent mental breakdowns which caused me to skip school for several days at a time. All of this was due to me overworking myself and the Vyvanse has helped me keep my grades up while still attending school on a regular basis. I just feel a lot happier with the Vyvanse because I dont have to work nearly as hard anymore and I can still get good grades, that also doesnt mean that I dont have to work hard though.

Not true! Adderall is in same class as meth, Meth can legally be prescribe "Dextromethamphetamine" both Adderall and Dextromethamphetamine can benefit some people greatly! Everyone is unique in one's chemical makeup and whether it's legal or an illegal drug not all chemicals interact the same for everyone. Since I was 15 I have suffered for years from depression, diagnosed with clinical depression, for years nothing prescribed to me worked and side effects made my depression worse but there was something that I knew worked and for over 30 years I self medicated only consuming what was needed per day! I don't recommend anyone having to go that route but I do suggest that people not be so quick to judge based on those who shouldn't have ever consumed it in the first place. I now have a legal prescription for the chemical that not only helps my depression it makes me better! I for one am tired of a "drug" being held responsible for someone........if it makes you act and do stupid stuff, don't do it!

Guest. Adderall is never (or at least rarely) prescribed for taking 90 mg at a time; an average does is 10-20 mg. Of course you can take more and abuse it, that is different than taking it as prescribed. People used to say that everyone grew out of ADHD, and that is not true. Yes, diet, food, sleep can play a role in managing ADHD for kids and adults.

I'm 29 years old and have struggled with ADHD since I was about 6 years old, back in the early 90s though ADHD wasn't very well known so I was Misdiagnosed and haven't been on meds until just recently. I have used marijuana, ecstasy and heroin to try to make myself feel better, they did work but got really heavy on my pocket money wise, I am now taking adderall and feel a whole lot better and do not feel as though I need any other substance!

So horribly untrue. Shame on you for for posting such lies. Next you'll be trying to sell snake oil which will "cure" ADHD.
