Is it okay to drink Lactose Free Milk if you have been diagnosed with Pancreatitis?

Loading...

Hi,

since pancreas is responsiblee for releasing enzymes that digest fat, the most important thing you need to pay attention to if you have pancreatitis is to choose as low fat milk as possible. But since more and more people are finding lactose free milk easier to tolerate, you would most likely be best off if you find both low fat and lactose free milk.

Depending on how much stomach problems after meals you experience due to pancreatitis, you might get some additional relief too if you were lactose intolerant - most people realize they were lactose intolerant only after they stop using milk and dairy products. You might also want to try with soy milk, although some people tend to experience bloating and gassyness when using only soy products.
