Throughout this rather long thread I think it's probable that more than 1 issue has been described, but the most common issue seems to be your garden variety jock itch/crotch rot in an "advanced" state. Cleanliness is the number one issue here, but it won't necessarily cure it. It's also important not to overwash the area, else you risk drying out your skin, thus creating more itching, and leading to an even more uncomfortable situation.
Normally jock itch is a reddened, itchy area where the legs join the groin and surrounding areas such as the scrotum and perineum. For those of you having problems with your actual penis, you may have a male yeast infection, which can be treated with the same creams for women. Even the worst cases of jock itch tend to stay away from these areas. As it progresses, tiny (sometimes imperceptible) sores/pustules begin to develop. The warm and moist environment combined with scratching leaves the skin in the area soft, and it will break easily and begin to ooze. At first this will just feel like sweat in the area, though you may begin to notice that this sweat never seems to go away. If you care to take a closer look at what's actually seeping out of your skin down there, it'll have an off-white, perhaps slightly yellowish color to it, and depending on how long it's been building up, it can have an extremely foul odor.
Soap and water will temporarily clear the area of discharge, though some odor will probably still remain. Keeping the area clean is important, but it's also important not to scrub too hard as this will further irritate the skin. When you've finished, make sure that whatever you've used to wash yourself is set aside, preferably NOT with the rest of your dirty laundry. The sponge or washcloth you use should be washed (in the washing machine) as soon as possible to prevent contaminating anything else. Many times people believe that they are not fully getting rid of the problem and remark that it "keeps coming back" when in fact they are actually re-infecting themselves from a previously contaminated article of clothing.
1. Start with hygiene. Keep the area clean but don't overwash it. Start with an anti-microbial soap. This is the kind of stuff used in hospitals and can be found in any drug store. It may not be shelved with the "normal" soap so be sure to ask an employee if you can't find it. In a pinch, you can use the more common anti-bacterial soap, though this will primarily address the discharge (and any other foreigners that may have hopped on board) rather than the underlying problem. If for some reason you have access to neither anti-microbial or anti-bacterial, regular soap is better than nothing.
2. Repeat this process no more than once a day. Be sure to clean it after any vigorous exercise or other activity that produces heavy sweating. Also be sure to wash any surrounding areas to possibly stop the fungus from spreading.
3. Pat the area dry or let it air dry if possible (don't forget - DO NOT reuse the drying towel!). Like most others have mentioned, loose fitting clothes are best, and to be safe, change underwear twice a day. DO NOT use powder of ANY kind if you are experiencing discharge. As someone has already pointed out, the powder simply causes the discharge to clump and turn into a nasty paste, and keeps more of the discharge in contact with your skin for even longer periods of time. Powder (especially medicated ones) can be VERY helpful for preventing jock itch, but when combined with discharge, it can make the problem even more uncomfortable.
4. Depending on how long you've had the issue and what surfaces this part of your body may come into contact with, you may want to consider washing several items to reduce re-contamination - sheets, towels, and underwear are all able to harbor jock itch, especially if you've had significant discharge over a period of time.
5. Cover the area liberally with an anti-fungal cream. These can be found in any drugstore. They will be labeled as "anti-fungal" and indicated for treatment of jock itch and/or athlete's foot. Even if you don't have athlete's foot, this is the best medicine for the job.
6. Anti-fungal creams won't immediately alleviate the symptoms, and it may be a couple of days before noticing any results. It's important to continue applying the cream for as long as the directions indicate, even if the symptoms disappear. Washing the area can alleviate a lot of the general discomfort but may increase itching. If you can't stop yourself from scratching, try a cold compress or a bag of ice. With loose underwear on, the ice will cause minimal discomfort to the gentials and should provide quick and lasting relief for the itching.
7. Finally, there is absolutely NO REASON to try any of the methods listed that involve excessive burning or pain. If something is burning the area, it means it's irritating the already raw and sensitive skin further and potentially increasing long-term discomfort. While these methods may kill the fungus, so will a proper anti-fungal cream, and it won't further irritate one's skin in the process.
Within 2 to 12 hours of a proper anti-microbial cleaning and application of an anti-fungal cream, most of the itching, burning, generalized pain, and overt discharge should be greatly lessened. The area will probably remain red, inflamed, and/or flaky for a few days. The foul smell may linger for a few days as well, but it shouldn't be nearly as pronounced. The cream needs time to kill the fungus and your body needs time to heal those small breaks in the skin where the discharge originated. As long as the area remains red or discolored, some level of odor is not abnormal, however, you should notice it lessening in intensity over time.
Depending on the size and severity of your case, you may want to pick up an extra tube or two of anti-fungal cream. Most clotrimazole treatments recommend twice daily applications for 2 weeks, however, severe jock itch may necessitate treatment for as long as 4 weeks. Follow the directions of your specific medication and remember to continue to apply the cream for as long as directed even if/when your symptoms disappear. Clotrimazole will probably clear up most outward symptoms within 3 to 4 days, though continuous application is necessary to ensure that any dormant spores still hanging around are killed before they have the chance to blossom and become a nuisance.
If regular cleanings plus an as-directed course of clotrimazole or other comparable anti-fungal is ineffective, go see a doctor. You could have a more serious condition, and infections down in this area can lead to serious consequences such as sterility or even the loss of one or more testicles. If these solutions work but the infection seems to continually return, be sure to wash all fabrics that may come in contact with the area and wash them regularly! You may also need to talk to a doctor about obtaining stronger anti-fungals to clear up the infection once and for all.

You sound like me and my issue is a form of candasis... Yeast infection... If you also once in a while or more often notice whitening of your tongue then bet on this. My Dr. stated men do not get cadasis yeast infections. I found a new DR. It starts out in you gut, it can cause all kinds of neurological issues with your digestive system. Not so significant you run out to the ER or even make an appointment until you've had this for years and years like I have. After long enough time you'll have disautonomia from no known reason. That is bad stuff because it involves your heart, lungs and kidneys. You'll get diverticulsis and that may cause you to go to ER. ER will send you away time and time again. My suggestions is stop feeding the Candasis. Eat less bread and sugars even if you crave them. Eat more raw vegetables and drink a shot of unpasteurized apple cider vinegar and buy the name brand like Musclemans. Quit drinking beer and other grain alcohols. Your lifestyle feeds this fungus and this fungus is deadly as they come over years. Take it from someone who nearly died from no known causes... This male candasis did not spread to my wife. Weird, I thought. Turned out I was suceptable due to log term Hep C infection that must have come from 1) Fighting other dudes, or 2) my dentist chop shop tooth puller back in the 1980s. He uses a glass needle removed from a jar and placed back into the same jar. Thought nothing of it this was typical of sterilization methods pre aids... I'd screen for the Hep C on afterthought too. I had it for 30 years and have no damage from it other than this Candasis and the issues caused by the Cure. The Cure was 100000X as bad as the Hep C for me. I suggest if you had it long time you don't try the cure unless you are dead if you don't. I accidently discovered both the Candasis and the Hep C within a few months of each other by chaning GI providers and a referral to urologist. The medications won't cure you. Your diet will though. YOu PH level is acid somewhere and likely in digestive even if blood and urine appears within range. What is normal for you is not normal for all! ;) I hope this helps you all, sheds some light on this issues and makes you consider what is triggering your immune system overworking it causing it to fail to cure this or what is effecting your immune system to make it weak and thereby, preventing it from killing this candasis. CREAMS are DREAMS. PILLS cause ILLS. Eat right, live to fight

The problem is that a yeast infection will more than likely affect the opening of the urethra and present with some level of discharge. It is unlikely that a standard yeast infection will spread to the back of the scrotum and inner thighs. Yeast infections aren't going to spread very far past an open orifice because these areas don't typically house the requisite moisture and warmth for a yeast infection to thrive.
Most of these people are describing classic ringworm, which generally tends to spare the penis proper. Wetness on inner thighs, extreme itching, simple cleansing not enough to get it to go away, extremely foul odor....this is all typical crotch rot/jock itch. While I agree that yeast infections can and do happen in men, it is far less common than ringworm, which is exactly what most of these guys are describing. Plus, most male yeast infections have little to do with the male's diet. Often he catches it from a female sexual partner, and the two end up passing it back and forth to each other for some time before realizing what's happening.
It's also worth noting that a yeast infection and ringworm infection will have different odors. I'm not sure if my words will do the odors proper justice, but anyone who's smelled both will be able to immediately recognize the difference. Yeast infections smell yeasty, which when concentrated tends to give off an odor somewhere between fishy and spoiled dairy. Ringworm is a bit more pungent, leaning more towards something between extreme body odor, rotting vegetables, and even feces. If that isn't so easy to grasp, try to imagine the difference between the smell of urine and feces. If your genitals lean towards urine, that's yeast; if it's more pungent but less acrid and closer to feces, it's probably ringworm. Then again this is all rather moot anyway - male yeast infections quite often present with no symptoms at all (which is how a couple can pass the infection back and forth so many times) but when symptoms do manifest, it almost always begins with penile discharge.
Bottom line: unless you have penile discharge or pain stemming from the urethral opening, chances are it is NOT a yeast infection. If your primary problem is itching/burning/pain on the inner thighs that looks a lot like a rash with very defined borders, it's ringworm/jock itch/etc. and can be cured with OTC anti-fungals and regular cleansings of both the affected area and any fabrics (clothes, sheets, towels) that come into contact with the affected area.

That is a generic version. The most well known version is called Neosporin. But there are many triple antibiotic brands and almost all have the same three active ingredients.

It's called Candida which is a Yeast Infection - and all of the home remedies, Over-the-counter creams and mumbo jumbo do NOT work if it's confirmed. If it has been recurring over a long period or is so intense in interferes with work and life, you need to see a Doctor who deals with such things...and trust me, they've seen it all. There are several ways to go (gastro, colon-rectal surgeon, dermatologist), but based on experience I suggest an infectious disease doctor. I know that sounds scary, but they can do a culture test to see the cause and determine if it is the "Resistant" strain.
The only way to get true relief or cure Candida is with a prescription anti-fungal - usually both a cream/ointment and an pill you take for a period of time. If you have Resistant Candida, they can administer an IV drip in their office over several visits to kill it off, otherwise you will continue to suffer and perhaps get other problems down the road.

Im also facing the same problem...Initially I didnt take care of it regarding it as a normal itch. But suddenly it started paining a lot after many days..Iwent to the doctor and he examined it as EXTENSIVE FUNGAL INFECTION tunea crisis somethin.... and prescribed me terbinafine both cream and a oral medicine....Its been 2 days and it is still paining a lot...
The pain can be tolerated but the foul smell of disastrous f**k*** rotten eggs cant be tolerated...The pain is more below scrotum and smell comes from everywhere including scrotum and groin.....Doctor has prescribed me for 3 weeks..Lets see what happens after that...

I've been using ToppCock for over a month now and it has been working great for me. It contains silver nanoparticles which are known for their natural anti bacterial, fungal and viral properties.

Same symptoms. I found that pouring isopropyl alcohol, in generous amounts, will get rid of it. The caveat is that it is just temporary (a few months).
Beware that it will burn like you've never experienced before. And believe it or not, hair spray also works. It too is just temporary.
It's the best thing I've come across.

Witch Hazel is a good cleanse for this problem. It has natural antibacterial qualities and can be used for all kinds of skin related problems; from aftershave balm, to athletes foot, hemorrhoids and this problem we are discussing. After a shower and drying off, just splash or dab some witch hazel on the affected area and allow to dry. It dries in just a few minutes as it usually has about a 14% alcohol base. Then try the triple antibiotic cream and some Gold Bond. Everything should go swimingly within a few days of starting treatment.

BTW, just buy whatever witch hazel is cheap in the drug store. I use Dickinson's, but I think they are all basically the same.
