Hello all.  I quit smoking and drinking 2 weeks ago.... because I am almost 50 now.  This will be the 4th time I have quit smoke and the 3rd time I have quit drinking.  Anyway, I was googling about quitting smoking and yeast infections, and it turns out it could of caused my problem.  I developed a large swollen bump on my taint (area between the anus and the balls) and it hurts like hell... I have a hard time walking.  I tried just about everything : antibiotics pills(made it worse), antibiotic cream, warm soaks in a bath.  What seems to be working is Vagisil.  I put some on the bump and within a hour it started to drain... a lot. The drainage smells like old cigarettes and rot. But now that its draining I feel a whole lot better.  I am sure the damned bump was poisoning my blood, because I felt like c**p for days (chills, fever, knots in my stomach).  I have had HS on my inner thigh that gave me the same Symptoms.  I have the HS under control now, so this new bump was a surprise. Anyway, try your wife's cream to fight yeast infection (you might of got the infection from her anyway, or vise versa). Hope this helps someone.

My doctor also prescribed an ointment with steroids. But she said that it should only be used for about 1 week. Because excessive use of it could worsen the fungal infection for it is strong that burns the skin.

Tried that didn't work. Plus there was extreme pain and burning.

And to make matters worse that £100 fungal cream costs £2 or $3 dollars in UK! Its not fair to charge you that. On the NHS you would have paid nothing for seeing DRs . But I have the same problem and the dr gave me anti fungal cream but I used the atheletes foot powder costing $2 and it got rid of it for a time but now I have to scratch it red raw with a carving knife, no joke, then it feels better.

Could be Hailey Hailey disease, also known as Familial Benign Pemphegus. It's a rash like, with open wounds in the crevices of the skin, mostly in the groin & anus. Research it. There is no cure. It's not contagious & it's a genetic disease.

I have suffered this same thing since my early 30's and after reading the other responses and other research, I believe you have nailed the answer as to what it is. You are 100% correct that it is bacterial, not fungal. Thanks.

Guys I'm here because my son was googling this. I'm w guy. Stop wearing tight underwear, shower Daily; if need be, twice a day; less heat the better. Powder your area. If need be, use some rubbing alcohol to kill the smell and light soap
