Also, I tore ligaments in my shoulder about 17 years ago, I wonder if that attributed to this.
I just ordered new monitor stands to raise my monitors so that I can improve my posture by looking straight instead of down. I'll post my results in a few weeks.

I'm a Massage Therapist that has suffered with this itch for over 15 years (left side too). There are 2 things I've found to be successful in calming the itch and preventing it.
1) apply pure peppermint oil liberally to the itch, you may want to do a skin test first to make sure you are not reactive to the oil, if so you can dilute it. This will quiet and take the itch away often for hours. You can also try the medicated pain patches like "SALONPAS", if they have menthol or mint in them.
2) Strengthen your Rhomboid muscles regularly. When I did weight training and also the rowing machine, it was miraculous. I think when the rhomboids are weak and tight, they irritate the nerves responsible. Try it and you will be grateful!! Working on your posture is also important for that area of your spine. Good luck and let me know how it works for you.

I have the same itchy sensation, but mine's a spot directly over the front right hipbone. There's no dryness, no discolouration, no rash, NOTHING, just the constant itch and a slightly numb feeling when I touch the area.
