I've been having this 6 weeks now... I doubt it's STI/STD cause i've remained faithful to my very pregnant wife who I have full faith she wouldn't cheat even without the pregnancy.
Started off one night I noticed scrotum burning in water/shower... Next day worse... Then burning gone just the scrotum going dry, leathery, scaling, then flaking/peeing... Then it will look almost normal for maybe 2 days then the drying cycle repeats (each cycle about 7-10 days roughly).
Over two weeks of using antifungal cream plus pills with no effect...
Then the tip of my penis feels red and inflamed, and the foreskin looked unusually dry. Two weeks or so later the penis goes through what is similar to the scrotum except the cycles are really slow...
Saw doctor(S) who both said it's not fungal or bacteria or anything, and prescribed weak steroids daily and later moderate steroids twice daily...
No effect in either case. Now it's spread from scrotum to penis to surrounding area both sides of inner thigh that touches the scrotum... On top of that I'm getting upper thigh nerve numbing pain every few minutes.
Why is this such a guessing game? Is there no way to get samples for some lab test rather than guessing and trial and erroring while things are getting worse and the clinics picture is increasingly "contaminated" by treatment (like no longer can tell what is original symptom what is treatment side-effect symptoms so doctors say harder to guess now)?

First off I think your hilarious....... and rest assured your not alone . I too have been suffering from the same symptoms. I am already in the hot bath ..... lol . Then I would assume a topical cream would be warranted to reduce my chronic crotch itch . Specifically located along my ball sack , and up my inner thy . My shwacker appears to be fine , and I have been carefully watching to make sure I didn't get penis rot ass well .
So the hot bath helps , but I would really like to ask the 3 man on the problem that has the remedy, what should we wash with in the bath , a special soap , Also is moisturizer recommended , because I have been trying to dry my raw crotch rot , Shafed the f up and no matter how much I know I am scratching layers of skin off that are not even available , I absolutely must scratch that itch and balls !
It's almost like if you don't you will end up in a phyc Ward !
So getting back to the proper treatment of my penis and balls , would you say that lotrimin anti fugal is appropriate?
Thanks for helping me and my new friend with out genitalia issues . Usually doesn't mean we have a promising future or friendship given this is never the right foot to get off on

I had a not severe but fairly frequent itching of the scrotum and shaft of the penis over several days. When I took a look, I found the scrotum to be quite red and the shaft of the penis somewhat so, especially where it joined the scrotum. On the sides of the scrotum, where it joined the skin of the crotch, there was a distinct line of demarcation between the red skin of the scrotum and the normal color of the crotch skin.
Washing the area with warm water and soap and then applying a light oil seemed to help reduce the itching but did nothing to reduce the redness. Much more effective was bathing the area with rubbing alcohol, which I did once each day for two days. The alcohol produced a burning sensation in the affected area but this passed quickly. Alcohol has a drying effect on the skin, and I afterward applied to the area a soothing oil. (I used grape seed, though olive or mineral or vegetable would probably do as well.) It is now two or three days later and the scrotum and penis appear to be back to normal except for a slight residual dryness of the scrotum skin.
I have used alcohol in the past to treat athletes foot and for several decades as an effective preventive of underarm odor. I am guessing that all these conditions are due to bacteria residing on the skin and that the alcohol kills the bacteria, thus improving the condition.
One last note regards alcohol stength. My observation has been that 70% alcohol works better as a deodorant than does 90%, though why this is I do not know. Nor do I know whether the same relative effectiveness would be found in the other applications, though in both cases my usage was of 70%.
