Hi, I would love to (and desperately need to) hear more about your medical history. Unfortunately, I've also been diagnosed with Hodgkin Lymphoma, Stage IIIA, with swollen lymph nodes on my neck, mediastinum, and groin area. I have had an itchy scrotum for 2 years. I've already had 4 doses of ABVD and still my scrotum itches. It itches intensely for only a couple of times in a day, and when I start scratching, it gets itchier and does not resolve no matter how much and how hard I scratch it. I often break skin and sometimes it bleeds. Please tell me how long does it take for this condition to resolve. I'm suicidal and my doctors just want to prescribe steroid creams which I am more than reluctant to use on my scrotum because of obvious reasons.

I have screening questions for you all on this forum - please feel free to reply.

What medications/supplements/drugs/alchohol etc do you take?
What blood, skin, and observational tests have you had done? Anyone do a biopsy?
What are your occupations? Do you find yourself sitting and sweating alot?
What medications have you tried for this? Antifungals, antivirals, antibiotics, steriods, antihistamines etc...
What is your personal hygiene regimen.
Do you have any food or medication allergies?

I have the same issues, and dermatoligists seem to tell me its eczema that allows fungus and bacteria to enter broken skin. I was told to analyze lifestyle factors to try to beat the eczema.

I find sweat makes things worse, such as long drives or sweating under heavy blankets. Air seems to help me.

This turned out to be an allergic reaction to something in the environment that I have not ever found. NO food allergy. From scratching I developed a staph infection and the horror lasted about 6 months total. I had 3 rounds of oral antibiotics, steroid soaks, skin biopsy, cultures, light therapy at the Mayo clinic, taking benadryl around the clock, and sleeping with ice packs every night. This has resolved with only small patches occasionally, but I was told that it will probably come back sometime in my life.

I had a similar set of symptoms and worried it might be an STD. I was also experiencing some erectile dysfunction - not sure if physically linked or just through worry. I looked on the internet and thought it sounded like jock itch - I bought some jock itch antifungal treatment and there was some mild improvement but only very minor. Then I bought some Betadine antiseptic cream and rubbed it all over my testicles, then once it was dry used talcum / baby powder. After about 3 days the symptoms had cleared up remarkably. Now at 5 days the testicles look 100% normal, and my erections have returned. I now think I was having a low grade fungal infection probably for a few months that I was keeping at bay with washing and drying, and that it was triggered more strongly when I went to a hotter climate for a holiday. The improvement in my sexual functioning has been remarkable - back to my old self - and I think some of the erectile problems were related to mild discomfort that I had kind of acclimatised to. Try Betadine for sure.

PS: I use the Betadine daily - not just on one occasion
