Hi all. I've had this itch for about 5weeks. ive tried zinc & caster oil cream...soothes it but not going away. a weerk ago i started with a product called Innospore. It is a "Broad spectrum fungicide" wich contains clotrimazole (10mg). Woman use this product for vaginal infections.

The itching is a lot less. The dry and red skin seems to be going away.

Keep using the product for 2 weeks after the rash is completely gone. Try wearing loose fitting cotton underwear or boxer shorts. Dry well after showering and apply talcum power or zinc oxide powder to keep the groin area dry.

I've had this issue since January of 12. I've tried all the creams but to no avail. Same for the sprays. They burned so much. Just felt that it wasnt' working. I used the creams and sprays for a couple of weeks . Made me what to claw my ball bag off. Hot water in the shower intensified the burning and itching. Make you want to scratch yourself with a bbq grill cleaner. I work out about 3 to 4 times a week and thought that it was probably jock itch. I started taking Zyrtec, antihistimine. It helps with the itching. I definitely recommend it in conjunction with the lamisil.

I have had this for three years on and off. it has been agonizing and has seriously affected my sex life since sex has made it a lot worse. doctors always dismissed it as my already existing eczema and subscribed steroid cream like hydro-cortisone which made it briefly better but worse in the long term as it just ruins your immune response to this type of infection. I am also allergic to most azole fungal creams like miconazole and clotrimazole which make symptoms worse. At one stage it started progressing up my penis shaft then I go really scared. things that have worked are nystatin antifungal cream and believe it or not is applying 'Natural yogurt with live cultures' for an hour, they produce hydrogen peroxide that kills the fungus apparently. it has returned recently and  wakes me up in the middle of the night with intense itching i have to get up and watch tv or something to calm myself down. so i am going to give lamisil a go. i went to the doctors and he said he 'didn't know what it was' until i suggested a fungal infection and then he said 'yeah that could be it!' he gave me a prescription for canestan which as i've found out is clotrimazole. iv'e just been screwed over too many times with this. i really hope there's no lasting damage. i suppose it will grow out if there is anyway.

Hey guys. The one thing you want to AVOID is anything that Is going to ADD MOISTURE to your jock/crotch area. That's what the fungi/yeast/bacteria is feeding on. You want to use anti-fungi medications and use items that are going to remove moisture like the talc powders or drying balms. Using hydrocortisone is going to add moisture if you cake it on. Bad idea.

Big help, this topic. Been letting it go now, untreated for a while now and it keeps getting worse. Going to try the latisal, and hope it gets better. And, from what everyone is saying, i will not! Try the hydrocortisone.

If the rash is on the inner thighs it's jock itch. Jock itch on the scrotum (other than the sides near the thighs) is extremely rare, according to my doctor. My problem was on the scrotum, though. It happened after shaving it when camping so I was sweating a lot and not showering as much. The scrotum started itching, so I applied jock itch cream for 10 days and that stuff is too harsh for your scrotum. It became tough, red, and leathery. Then I tried all kinds of powers and creams. They just made it worse. The problem is that the skin is sensitive there, and all these medicines and powered to dry it will trigger dermatitis. Here is what I did to finally eliminate the problem. Gentle moisturizing and leaving it alone. 1. Only wear cotton boxers to allow the area to breathe, including when you sleep. No polyester or other materials. 2. Stop shaving in that area. Period. 3. Switch to a gentle natural soap like Tom's of Maine Daily Moisture or Kirk's Castile soap. 4. Once or twice a day apply a very small amount of Aveeno Eczema Cream for babies. 5. I showered twice a day, but you may need to judge this based on how your body responds. 6. I found that using a very small amount of zinc oxide cream (desonide or other) only as needed helped the redness. It took several weeks of coaxing the skin back to a healthy state. I found that powders (especially gold bond medicated) are FAR too harsh for the skin down there and actualy caused an inflammation on the meatus that may be a permanent dermatitis. Beware! Remember that contact dermatitis is caused by irritation and inflammation, so you want to slowly bring the skin into a normal healthy state by only using the minimal amount of Aveeno and zinc oxide. Don't just slather it on every day or it will stay irritated. Note, stress and diet also play a role, so pay attention to these of the above recipe does not seem to be working. Hope this helps.

So I appreciate all the posts. I have had this rash for like 2 solid weeks and am tired of scratching my balls in public. I Have used, aquaphor, gold bond self medicated powder, A&d, triple antibiotic ointment. Nothin seems to work. It is slowly working its way to the other side of my sack...not cool...been showering like twice a day. I figured it was me chaffing from skating in this heat and irratating the skin. I apparently need to go get......WHAT?! my guess is a checkup. I thank u all for your comments.

One Word: Candida Triggers can be diet (food) related. This is why it never seems to go away. Also, the Candida lives in your rotton+sugar filled+proccessed food- gut (intestinal). I've been able to control symptoms by taking 2 TBSP of Apple cider vinagar every day AND trying to avoid the foods that cause flair-ups. Most replies in this forum are simply treating the symptoms, which is what your doctor will do also...Thats his primary focus. Chances are YOU are causing it but are ignorant of this fact, so do something about it. The answer is not simple and there isn't a single cure all for everyone. You are what you eat, so focus on diet+hygene+topical aids. Work in progress...Some triggers I avoid: - taquila (I know... :-( , seems to give me ring worm / jock itch) - tomatoe or red sauces...these are the worst for me - candy, soda's(especially monster, red bull, rave etc...) - hot peppers, especially cayene... What helps ? : - penaten cream (helps calm flair ups) - vasaline (sooths shafing) - lotriderm cream (presciption for yeat infection) - zink oxide body powder (keeps it dry) Lots of good tips here, but everyone is on thier own journey cause we all are different physically and chemically. Good Luck ! Regards, CPT RedAss
