I am so scared to have this surgery. I have constant neck pain starting from base of skull to shoulders. Bilateral shoulder and scapulae pain. Right hand & arm numbness. Burning sensation at my right elbow area. Upon examination today with my neurosurgeon he said that my reflexes are ultrasensitive and that my 'tone' is off. Not sure what that is. I had another MRI today and nowIam booked for surgery.
I don't know what to expect. He told me the cons..which scare me. I just want to feel better. Does anyone have any advise of what to expect post surgery. Does anyone feel that is was well worth it. We always hear of the bad things,I want to hear some good outcomes! Thanks

I don't understand what you are having surgery for? What did he see on the MRI?

What side effects should I expect from C6-7 discectomy and fusion with instrumentation? I am dizzy, nauseous, have burning pain in both shoulders, a killer headache at the base of the skull, and the biting surface of my back teeth is cold sensitive.
