I started Lamictal for Bipolar about three or four weeks ago. I just began 75 mgs two days ago. I have noticed that I hiccup after eating anything. I always hiccup. It may be an entire episode of hiccups (and not the little dainty ones...these are huge and sometimes uncomfortable/painful)...or it may just be a couple of hiccups and I'm done. What causes this? Anyone else have this? Does it go away? Also, I take my Yasmin (BCP) in the morning with the Lamictal, but recently read that BCPs can interfere with absorption of Lamictal....should I stop the Yasmin? Thanks!
I take Lamictal (350mg/day) along with Paxil (40mg/day) and Lithium (300mg/day). I started suffering from hiccups shortly after starting Lamictal, along with other side effects such as vertigo.

The hiccups have settled down the longer I am on Lamictal. At first they lasted for a couple of minutes, and now they are down to one or two episodes per day with only a few hiccups. This happens regardless of whether I am eating or drinking.

For what it's worth, I'm on 500mg/day and I have hiccups also, regardless of time of day or what I'm doing. It is usually just one big one randomly.

I take 100 mgs in the morning and 200 mgs before going to bed. I have hiccups off and on all day.

1 tbsp of apple cider vinegar in 1/2 cold cup water. Add a touch of maple syrup to make it a bit more tasty.
Cures my son's lamictal hiccups asap!!!
