Some of my friends are using lexapro for depression. I would like to use it to stop smoking. What do you think of that? Have anyone jet heard about this kind a use of this medication? What to do? I am desperate, because I smoke to much and afraid that it can get worse.
I think that you should ask your doctor first, before you start with this. I heard that some people have used Lexapro for quitting smoking but I am not familiar about their success. Also, I have heard that you can by this on-line but I am not a fun of this stuff. Ask your doctor, it is the best way to do this.

I was on Lexapro during my rehab (narc addiction) and some time afterward. This was the most successfull time in my life to mentally do whatever I wanted. Quit smoking? no problem, Quit cocaine (and still clean btw)? no problem, morph body in gym?, no problem; turned everything around. But, as always, I felt everything was under control and took myself off without a doctor and replaced it with herb. That was a bad move. Not only did the BrainZaps not stop for months, but now I smoke an obnoxious amount of herb which makes me lazy, which makes me fat and lonely. Not endorsing, just telling my story.

Hey. I was smoking for 4 years, and suffered from depression. I started taking Lexapro to treat my depression and anxiety, but somehow it also managed to quench any desire for cigarettes. A wonderful bonus. Good luclk
