I have been feeling a very light vibrating sensation at the end (urethra) of my penis. It seems to have started after I shaved a significant amount of hair from that area. Its almost like the 'ghost' vibration feeling you get in your pocket from you cell phone (when it feels like its ringing/vibrating even when its not). I was thinking that since my penis is used to having a lot of hair that it rests agaianst and now that hair isn't there it still gets the sensation. But this has been going on for a week now. Its not a painful sensation at all. Just strange. Like the end is getting tickled.

Any ideas?

This is pretty odd. And no responses from doctors, nurses, etc.??

Mine has pretty much gone away but it definitely had me a little worried.

It's been suggested that Energy drinks and strong coffee's as well as stimulant pre-workout supplements can cause this.  Many have reported that discontinuing them for a while makes it stop.  Mine started last night and today for the first time ever so I am going to try this as I drink a lot of all the above.

Do any of you have a vasectome or had a vasectome reversal? This may be related.

I am having this vibration in my penis and it is constant. I do ride a bike Six miles every day and do not know if that has anything to do with it but it has been buzzing or vibrating all day. Like everyone says it does not hurt but it is like ringing ears just bugs the  heck out of you. Now one can feel it for the vibration is so faint. Dang what next.

Why has there been any reply from a doctor? I also have this sensation of "buzzing"...had vasectomy nearly 4 years ago..

I had vasectomy nearly 7 yrs ago and I'm currently having this vibration thing. I have also shaved 1 week ago and also think that my wife had candidiasis about a week ago as well. My scrotum area is shafting and burns a little. I think this is a fungal infection, or candidiasis manifestation in men. Not sure if related though. Will keep investigating

I started having this issue four years ago. I am 63 and the vibrating sensations has once again started again and now are constant at the head of my penis. It has gone away for months in the past hoping it will do the same this time. Just bugs the heck out of me especially when I am still.

I have been having the same buzzing in my penis a week now. I first noticed it getting undressed to take a shower. I feel it constantly whether it is flaccid or erect. I have also experienced a lack of sensation during sex / masturbation. Definitely freaked out.

Guys I hope this will help: I had this for a month and I am pretty sure I have it figured out because I got it to go away. I am pretty sure that (in my case at least) it was kidney related. Namely I was eating a lot of extra protein because I was doing more weight lifting. At first I thought maybe I pinched a nerve but that didn't seem to make sense because I would have good days and then days when I had lots of vibrations. Anyway too much protein can tax the kidneys; especially if you're not fully hydrated and lacking some electrolytes. I'm not going to say I understand all of this, I'm no doctor. But I cut my protein down to reasonable levels, I'm drinking water like crazy and cut the caffeine and alcohol which will both dehydrate you. Guess what? The vibrating is gone. So is the back pain. I don't have the exact variable isolated just yet-- I mean, it all works together but what's the weak link the chain? Is it the protein, the electrolytes, or the hydration? At any rate I hope that gives you something to work with because it's working for me. And I am VERY happy to be rid of that nuisance! Good luck!

It may be due to a bacterial infection of the prostate. It occurs due to inflammatory prostatitis, which may lead to a variety of causes. Treatment with a 10 day course of fluoroquinolone antibiotics, such as ciprofloxin can help. You need this type to penetrate into the prostate gland as it's a very dense hydrophobic tissue.

Have your doctor check it out. Good luck.
