I am a 65 y/o female who was on predisone for 5 years,  I gained a ton of weight and no matter how many hours I spent in the gym, I couldn't get this weight off.  The excess fat was primarily in my full abdomen and flanks (love handles)  I also have a heart condition and had stents placed in 07.   I consultated with my cardiologist and had 2 consultation with the surgeon because of pre-existing conditions. Both assured me that I would be fine.

Well, i'ts been only 5 days post op and I feel like I've been in a war and lost.  I am almost a solid bruise from my breast to my pubic bone and around my back at the flanks.  I've been draining constantly since the surgery and have ruined my mattress.  and before you say didn't you wear anything?   Yes, I was fully packed with padding and wrapped with ace wraps for compression.  I bled through ALL of the packing, the ace wraps and soaked the chucks that was on the bed.    THis morning, It was SOOOOO bad that the fluid squirted out of the small incission and hit the sink. I've gone through 2 compression garments a day for the last 5 days.   I would think by now, this would be slowing  down.  My second problem is I am rock hard in the upper abs to the point it is hard to get a deep breath and any type of exceration causes my heart rated to raise.   I will be seeing the surgeon tonight.  Through all that I've read, you are supposed to drain, but this drainage makes me sick to my stomach to look at it.    I think I've lost too much blood as in the beginning the srugeon said he would do the procedure in 2 setting.   That didn't happen,   he did the full abdomen, flanks and lower back.   Too much Epi and too much lidocain.   His comment was,  while you are numb, we'll just finish up.   Another thing, I was on the table, fully numbed and my ab. distended for 2 hours before he got there. I never felt this bad before.  This was a most horrible feeling, Must be what a turttle feels like.   My stomach was hard as a rock.   He was very lated getting to me.  Things just didn't go well.   I hope things get better.   Has anyone else had any of theses types of problems. Feeling:'(   Just in case anyone out there is considering lipo and has a previous heart condition,   PLEASE don't do this,   I have regreted every second since I had this done.    they keep telling me,  "Oh you'll call in a few weeks and want more and you'll be so happy with your results.   right now, I don't see that happening,  This was NOT a pleasant experience for me.  I wasn't comfortable at all during the precedure as my ab. was so distented.  I know I WILL NEVER HAVE LIPO AGAIN and I hope I'm happy with the results.

Have you spoken with the surgeon about the drainage?  If he isn't addressing these concerns, you may want to go somewhere else for a consult, even if it is just to the ER or your family doctor.

Yes Nemiki. I saw him last night, he wasn't willing to even put a stitch in it. he said it needed to drain. he blamed it on the severe bruising. like I said NEVER AGAIN!
