I was a healthy lady until 6 yrs ago im 42, i became depressed and for 4 yrs i binge drank in the evening on whisky.when my right side liver i suspect started to hurt that badly i thought time to stop,at the same time i was pregnant,i gave birth to a healthy baby boy.i had a few drinks after my boys birth as my dad had just died and i took to my bed. This is where my story starts and i need help.i gave up the drink completely &started with severe yellow diarrhea for 5 months i lost 2 stone instantly and i had gastritis and intestinal inflamation i was bed ridden,i had all bloods done no liver problems they said no pancreas problems i had a scan on my gallbladder,no stones nothing wrong,i had a colonoscopy all clear and of late ive had a endoscopy nothing wrong apart from gastritis certainly no cancer or celiac disease all biopsies negative.im now 1 yr on and still very poorly.everyday i feel my stomach is swollen and everyday i cant eat what i would like,no fatty foods no milk products,i can eat bread fish and veggys etc.recently had all bloods done still all normal.can you please tell me as i think all this has stemmed from my heavy drinking and to what damage have i done,i suppose it could be bilary or gallbladder problems still but occasionally i still have pains in my liver.i havnt drunk now in18m and i dont smoke,i lead a healthy life but now feel im disabled,i get exhausted quickly and im scared stiff of dying,i saw my dad die of cancer and ever since its frightened me,i would like to see my son grow up..tell me please what do you think,my docs just say if my bloods are ok liver wise i should be fine,i just know ive caused some problems but dont know what yet.i may have to go back to see another gastro doc soon to see if i can be helped ,some days im so much pain with my stomach i think im dying i thought crohns but doc says not,any ideas please
Definitely the best thing you can do is to see another gastro specialist as soon as you get the chance, because this all lasts too long for you to ignore it. If your blood tests for liver were fine, than that is one thing that probably can be eliminated as a cause for your problems. Bloating, diarrhea and stomach pain, along with gastritis definitely sound to me like they have been caused by gallbladder issues – I wouldn’t have believed that myself, but after I’ve been diagnosed with chronic gastritis it turned out I had bile reflux, too and that was responsible for a large part of my symptoms. So, no need to fear for the worst now, just don’t stop until you find out the real cause and if it is a gallbladder, than it is treatable. Keep me posted about what happened and wish you the best!
