I am taking Lo/Orval and am experiencing serious spotting. I am not even half way through the pack and I am seemingly on my period. I am wondering if it is because at school I have a routine that I follow and take the pill at a certain time every morning and at home I take it maybe 3 hours later than usual. I have never had this problem before with the pill or any others that I've taken. Why am I on my period now?

You could have been having these symptoms because you changed BC types. Even though the chemicals are similar, there are differences. If you were off of another type for any period of time, you would have irregularities when starting again. You would also need to be sure that you are taking the pills according to their prescribed schedule or this can cause irregularities as well.
