Went to hospital with what we thought was a heart attack. Three doses of nitro and about two hours and the pain stopped. It felt like I had swallowed air very painful and problem breathing. Dr. sent me for stress test it came out fine. Blood test revealed low Platelet count of 25,000 had another test done for HIV/Hep and HIV negative HEP positive. Had a sonogram and it showed fatty liver. I am seeing specialist next week to schedule Liver biopsy & Colonoscopy. I have been doing research and it seems that my Dr. and the Hematologist are both concerned about the blood platelet count. Both say that they would not advise starting the treatment for HEP-C until the platelet count is higher. Neither want to give a lot of information until after the biopsy & colonoscopy. Is there a treatment to raise the platelet level?

Thanks
John
