Im a 32 y old female, and ive read alot of people are having this lump feeling so I thought id share my experience, for past 3 weekz ive had that lump feeling most times it felt like someone was strangling me, and I had trouble breathing due too me panicing wit all mad thoughts terrified too sleep incase I didnt wake up, eventually I got app wit my doctor and he said its globus hystericus, caused by sever anxieties, The anxiety had caused spazumz in the throat which caused the globus hystericus, He gave me anti biotics incase therez an infection down my throat, and gave me diazepam too help relax me as im real bad with nervs at moment which making my throat worse, After taking one diazepam lastnite and one today and tonight my throat feels so much more at ease, and im not panicing like usal Ive heard the lump feeling can last over a year, hope not as its really scary feeling it there n having all mad thoughts that im going too stop breathing, Has anyone over come this problem Does it really last a long time? Im just glad ive got the medz too help me stay at ease for now,

well its been several weekz later and its still there, I keep telling myself its going too be ok in few dayz these dayz feel like theyr never coming I feel calmish, and relaxed, but this lump feeling feels so tight it really scaring me has anyone had it n its gone kinda thing? a hate feeling like this and am sick of feeling like its never goina go away, no point going back too docz dont want him thinking im just wasting his time,

hi thankz for your reply, ive seen 4 different doctorz and doctor at hospital they all say more or less same they keep changing me medication a feel like a walking chemist, last doctor I seen put me on medication too slow down my heart rate since being on them my throat feels lil ease but the meds make me feel ill and im not allowed too stop taking them as I could end up having a heart attack its a no win situation hopefully soon this lump feelin will disappear I was told it can last up too a year its been several monthz now

I've had this in the past. Mine was caused by a lot of stress and anxiety. Saw an ENT and a gastro MD; they found nothing. Researched the internet and diagnosed myself. Ended up with a throat/speech specialist who said this is what I had, and gave me exercises to do. Got relief in about a month of doing these exercises.

that is more likely due to gerd or hypertension...sometimes as much as three antibiotics and something to reduce inflamation...in emergencies take a strepsil...
