I just discovered my lump at the collarbone yesterday. I took a fall backwards on my left side in a parking lot just before Christmas. My husband thinks it has something to do with the fall. I don't know much about collarbone breaks, but maybe mine is. I am making an appointment with my doc. asap. I hope that it is nothing to worry about, but I still am.

I had a lump above my collar bone, and it was lung cancer. I caught it in stage 3 and am in my third year without cancer. If you have a lump above the collar bone and have smoked, you probably have lung cancer like I did. Get it early!

I have had a swollen sterno clavicular joint (where the collarbone meets the sternum) on the right side for two months now. I have no other symptoms except for pain that refers out to that same shoulder. I have not seen a doctor yet but am planning on going in to get an x-ray. I am 25 years old, male, and otherwise extremely healthy, never had any problems. Any thoughts anyone?
Gulia, your case is interesting, any updates? Have you seen a doctor yet?

Surfsage, I have almost the exact same symptoms as you. In ~June of 08', I had shoulder pain (it was sometimes in my right trapezoid, right shoulder, on my right collar bone, and/or on my right chest). I also had swelling on my right SC joint. In ~Oct I got an xray, followed by an MRI. It appears that I have arthritis in the SC joint. It is surprising to me that arthritis in my SC joint could cause pain in all those different areas. I also had a frequent pinched-nerve feeling in my trapezoid - fairly painful.
After about 5 month of this, it went away. Unfortunately it just came back about three weeks ago. All of the symptoms I mentioned above are back, including a largely swollen SC joint. Please let us know how your prognosis turns out.

I started having pain in my left Collar Bone in February. I noticed this when I was sleeping and would turn over. I then noticed a "knot" on my collar bone by my shoulder. The "knot" moved down my collar bone and is now by my throat. As it moved, the pain has changed to my neck, under my arm, around my shoulder, down my chest, my back, etc...all on the left side.
I would love for all of the above people to give updates as your posts are so familiar. I have been to the doctor several times in the last two months with 2 sets of xrays and 1 cat scan with results of "nothing" so it must be per the DR. "soft tissue" related. Not sure what that means except I still have a lump and pain and swelling that still is referring to different areas, and my fingers and toes on my left side are "tingling" at different times of the day (this has just started in the last week. I have been put on a double pack of Prednisone. I completed a single pack a few weeks ago, which did seem to help the symptoms. Since they didn't find any cancer, or tumors, this is good...should I ask for an MRI? Any thoughts? Thanks All and best to you all. Please reply. Kim

I'm a sixteen year old female and a found a small bump around my collarbone. It can shift and move around sometimes. The only other problem is that the area above that between my collarbone and my neck is really sore. It feels sore all along the left side of my collarbone. This soreness started yesterday morning, but got worse after my volleyball practice then today its sore. I'm going to go talk to my auntie who is a nurse practitioner to see whats going on.

Dear Bubbles,
About a year ago, I also had a feeling of something in my throat and a "clicking sound" sometimes when I swallowed. I also often felt muscle pain from my throat to my chest. After a barium x-ray came up negative, I went to see an ENT. I was diagnosed with TMJ which was likely causing the clicking sound and feeling of throat oblasion due to the swelling of the muscles in my throat. The symptom can be rectified by a custom made mouth guard that prevents the teeth from grinding. I hope yours is something easily fixed as well.

I'm a fourteen year old girl and I have a bump behind my collarbone by my neck. I haven't asked my doctor about it, but it grows bigger when I'm sick and stays the same (after growing) when I get better. What is this?

Hi, I had a lump checked on my collarbone. Everytime the doctor tryed to feel it, she couldn't find it. I could run my finger along my collarbone and bingo, there it was, and it moved and felt like the size of a small bead. Months ago they found lung nodules but said this is just scars from some past fungal infection. But I still need ct scans for a two year period. you writing about this has really put a fear in me. Did you get your lump removed or did you have a chest exray and just a good doctor.

I got a tiny bump about 1mm in length and width right above my collar bone too. I'm not really feeling anything but I'm getting worried that it might lead to a bigger problem. It's been there for 3 weeks now but its looked about the same for the entire time. Anyone know what this is?

I have the very same thing... A small lump that was about the size of a small marble on the right side of my clavical... I noticed it about two months ago... I went to my internal med doctor and she did not know what it was.... She said that she had never seen anything like it before... She refered me to a surgeon... I saw the surgeon today... He attempted to do a biopsy by numbing the area and the putting a needle in the middle of it or at least attempting to do so... There was some loud poping sounds when he was trying to put the needle in and it was hard... He could not get the needle all the way in and could not get anything out of it.... It hurt a lot!! I very quickly started feeling the light headedness, upset stomach, and loss of hearing sensation that you get shortly before passing out.... He sent his nurse in to sit with me until I was okay... He then told me that he would not do any more and that he wanted me to see a bone surgeon.... Now anytime I touch the area, I get sick to my stomach, light headed and tired.... Today is June 9th and I can not get into the bone surgeon until June 29th..... The bump seems to be smaller at least for now.... Earlier today just after he did the needle thing it almost seemed gone.... Now it is bigger and very sore..... I can not examine it very much because as I said when I touch it, I start down the same path of showing signs of passing out..... Any thoughts from anyone would be awesome.....

Dear Guliagirl, I was wondering if you could please tell me what your results were, and how you are doing now? As I have very similar symptoms to you, infact almost identical, down to the abnormal cervical cells! I have a CA125 blood test on weds and a consultation next week, but it seems like a long time to wait as all this is going on.
I too am worried about ovarian cancer. I am 22 years old, please get back to me so I know you are still with us.. one can hope.
Sincerely
Rosie x

I am a 14 year old male. I have one of these ball-like things on my right collarbone, close to the V part though. I noticed it only recently. I also have one on my right wrist, which I've had for months now. I'm going to get it checked soon, but I really wish one of these many people that posted similar symptoms here would post back on how they're doing now, since it's been years since someone last posted here. The bumps/balls don't hurt really. No swelling or inflammation either. I hope it's not something really serious.
