I have always had goats and so I know that they can grow to be very old. My goat at the moment is only four years old and now has a lump on its neck. I am trying to figure out if it is a cyst, some allergic reaction to an insect bite, or something more serious. What can you tell me about lumps on goats?

I'm a Veterinary Technician currently trying to get into Vet school.
Goat commonly get abscesses from different things. how big is the lump? is it painful or hot? is it hard or soft? is anything leaking or draining from it if so what color and texture is it?
have you given the goat an injection by the area where the lump is if so what was it and how long ago did you give the injection.
