Hi there everyone! I have a question for my ten year old son, who has a lump on the pad of his foot. He has been complaining about this for the past week or so and says that it hurts him every time he walks, and more so or less so depending on which shoes he wears. I had a look at it and it just looks like an extra bit of skin. Any thoughts on this?
Frankly, I am not sure what you mean by the "pad of the foot" but from your description alone, I am actually suspecting that what your son has is an ordinary wart. They can hurt like hell at times, especially in kids, and especially when pressured by tightly fitting shoes all the time. Go and see a doctor and they can burn the wart off, or freeze it off.

I have a friend with the exact problem, however she is much older. Her doctor seems to think it is nothing, but is going to remove it and have it biopsied.

If indeed it is a wart that is the sign of a weakened immune system and upping vitamin C + E will usually make the wart go away. Also making a paste of absorbic a is and applying to the wart will dissolve it completely.
