Lybrel birth control and breakthrough bleeding?

I was on Lybrel birth control for about 1.5 months. Eleven days ago I started bleeding badly. I called my doctor but he wasn't much help. I stopped taking the pill now five days ago, and it's gotten worse. I am really exhausted and I can't sleep. I need this bleeding to stop! Can someone help please!!!
