I am on methadone 10mg and if I take it first thing in the monring (7:00-9:00am) by lunch or after my dose feels as though it is wearing off.
So by the time i get home at 4:30 I can tell that it has completely, I have hot flashes some, and I get real anxies or more snappy than usual

You would have to discuss this with your doctor as maybe the doctor can prescribe something for breakthrough pain or up the methadone which might be too much

I am coming off of the methadone that is why I am at 10mg so I wouldnt' want to go back up for that reason but I have had several people tell me that it shouldn't wear off like that.

You should ask for some more 10ml is well inside the withdraw threshold. If you are unwilling to come off now is the time to put down your foot. If of course you are ready to stop 10ml is almost there. Don't agree to 5ml reductions and do not be tempted to use df118 even if they offer you it. Such short acting opiates will likely make your symptoms worse. Withdraw can be reduced by tapering off the end doses. I would consider dropping over a six week period 1ml and see how you go. Don't be tempted to cluck from 10mls though because when its gone its gone and you will get very much worse after about 5 days. This is a heartbreaking truth about withdraw. The detoxification is only the start of a journey that will take at least 3 years to cover. The first few days fly by on your adrenaline glands but the achs and pains, the difficulty sleeping eventually wear you down. You will be sick for at least six weeks, maybe far longer.
