I had a mantoux test today and it measures 40mm in size. What does it mean? Plz help me am so tensed.

Hi Tany,

It means it reads positive.  It does not necessarily mean you have TB.  You can have a "false positive."

Normally you'd be next sent to have a chest x-ray.

You should talk to your doctor about these results ASAP.

Good luck.

I am hoping that its false result, but what other infection can i hv, if its nt TB.
And how it looks, if it is infeseous.

Your doctor is your best resource here.

There are many reasons for why it could read positive. Without knowing your full history I can only guess.

I never had any tb symptoms. Never have regular coughing. My weight is enough.

Nothing in your history is specific to testing positive.

You can test positive by being exposed to another person or even by living in certain countries where it is common.

Again, it doesn't mean you have TB, just more likely that you were exposed.

Your doctors need to follow up on this.
